Chemelot is much more than an industrial park in South Limburg. The unique chemistry and materials site is of strategic importance for many of the companies present. At least as important: Chemelot is a growth engine for the entire region. In order to guarantee the importance of Chemelot for future generations, the large companies at Chemelot (SABIC, OCI Nitrogen, Arlanxeo, Fibrant, AnQore and DSM) and the growing Brightlands Chemelot Campus joined forces with the on-site service companies Sitech and USG in the stakeholder team Chemelot 2025.
Our ambition for Chemelot is clear. We want to become the most competitive and sustainable materials and chemicals site in Western Europe between now and 2025. We do this by focusing on further cost reduction and multiple sustainability transitions, on the one hand, focused on our production processes and on the other hand, on the products we make.
Our Industrial Park excels in ten years in the field of energy and raw materials consumption and our Brightlands Chemelot Campus is internationally known as a leader in innovations and application of innovative and sustainable materials. With this, we are building on a Chemelot site, which is unique to Europe, where Research & Development and production have been very successfully connected for more than a hundred years. Thanks to 'constantly reinventing ourselves', we can also strengthen our leadership position and compete with the world top even a century after the start of the site.
