Join the world of Chemelot

Sustainable Growth

The development of the most competitive and sustainable materials and chemicals site in Western Europe can only take place socially responsible. The activities at Chemelot must be in balance with the quality of life and safety in the immediate vicinity. Chemelot feels genuinely connected with the society around them. With the municipalities of Sittard-Geleen, Stein and Beek, the province of Limburg, the Netherlands, the Euregion and Europe.

Partly thanks to the unique combination of companies, products, services and innovative strength at one location, Chemelot can make a major contribution to strengthening the economic structure in the entire region and to the (innovation in the) chemicals and materials sector in the Netherlands. The increasing innovative strength of the Campus can also become increasingly important for current and future site users. Chemelot is a magnet for companies and knowledge institutions that are at the forefront of sustainability and innovation. It offers great opportunities to further expand employment in the region. In doing so, Chemelot is committed to maintaining the strict conditions for safety and to greatly improve communication about this. This means, for example, that the dialogue is constantly sought with local residents, municipalities, the province of Limburg and other stakeholders. All stakeholders have one point of contact at Chemelot. One counter where they can go with all their questions.

Corporate social responsibility is in Chemelot's genes. Programs such as Chemelot2Discover and Jetnet encourage children to choose technology. The Fonds Sociale Instellingen (FSI), where social, social and cultural goals can apply for subsidies, has been active since 1918. Individual companies at Chemelot sponsor various cultural organizations (Philharmonie Zuid Nederland and the Bonnefantenmuseum) and sports clubs (handball club OCI-LIONS, HC Scoop) structurally. Every year, hundreds of people visit the site during open days. Finally, the 'Groene Net' is a very different example of corporate social responsibility.
