Increased production capacity of interlayer film for laminated glass and raw material resin in Europe

- Total investment value around 20 billion yen
- The new film production line mainly focuses on wedge-shaped interlayer film for head-up displays

Sekisui Chemical co., LTD has decided to expand European film production with a new film line in Roermond and a new resin line on its plan in Geleen (Chemelot), both in the Netherlands.

The total costs of this expansion of production capacity amount to approximately 20 billion yen, with the activities starting to run on the new film line in the second half of fiscal year 2019 and on the new resin line in the first half of fiscal year 2020.

With the new film production line, the company is mainly planning to produce wedge-shaped film between layers for head-up displays (HUD), which projects information such as speed onto car windscreens.
