Royal HaskoningDHV and Sitech Services have agreed a new way of cooperation for the asset management of Chemelot in Limburg. The collaboration is aimed at more innovation and more intensive cooperation so Chemelot can function optimally as a chemistry site. The multi-million contract was signed by Marc Dassen, CEO of Sitech Services and Marije Hulshof, Director Industry & Buildings of Royal HaskoningDHV.

Twelve-year cooperation will continue to focus on innovation

On behalf of Sitech Services, Royal HaskoningDHV has been responsible since 2006 for the management and maintenance of infrastructure and facilities at Chemelot, a 850-hectare chemical industrial complex in Geleen with multinationals such as DSM, SABIC and OCI Nitrogen.

Chemelot has no less than 80 kilometers of roads, 50 kilometers of tracks, 16 bridges and viaducts, one inland port and 195 kilometers of sewer pipes. The chemical companies that use this can focus on their core activities knowing that the functionality of this infrastructure is guaranteed.

Sitech Services CEO Marc Dassen is enthusiastic about the new form of collaboration: "In this way we work shoulder to shoulder on the achievement of Vision Chemelot 2025 with Chemelot as the most competitive and sustainable chemical and materials site in Western Europe."

Improved performance by data
Innovation is a spearhead within the new contract. Sitech Services and Royal HaskoningDHV will work on new solutions and working methods to help Chemelot's facilities and infrastructure contribute to the realization of the ambitions of the chemical companies on the site. The existing IT landscape will be enriched for predictive maintenance and the team will start collecting data in order to be able to predict and improve the necessary inspections of specific infrastructure using sensors.

A team
Unlike with previous asset management contracts, both parties work together in one team. Here, site owner Sitech Services and site manager Royal HaskoningDHV make use of each other's expertise, so that the available capacity is efficiently deployed. The priorities of the team are: safety, compliance with legislation and regulations, contributions to the sustainability ambition of Chemelot and the optimization of Total Cost of

Ownership.
Marije Hulshof: "We have been working with Sitech Services for twelve years. With more innovation from a single team, we give this cooperation a new impulse. We are proud of that and that is exactly what we, as a company, are strong at."

The cooperation within the new agreement started on 1 January 2018.
